Which delivery service do you use and how long does it take?

Please note that we print all our guides on demand to reduce wastage and our environmental impact as far as possible. We also offer all of our guides in digital format.

Physical Copies - We use both Royal Mail and DHL for delivering our guides - you can choose your preferred postage option at the checkout (please note that for some orders we cannot offer a Royal Mail shipping option due to the shipping destination or total package size).

Please allow 1 to 2 full working days from the day after placing your order for us to process your order. We require this time as we printed-on-demand to reduce our environmental impact. Once your order has been processed and printed and has been passed to DHL or Royal Mail, we will send you an email to state that your order has been fulfilled.

After you have received your shipping email, please allow 2 to 4 full working days for DHL to deliver your order within the UK. You can track your order using the DHL tracking number provided in your shipping confirmation email.

Royal Mail attempt to deliver all first class post within a couple of working days, however please allow up to 10 working days for Royal Mail to deliver your order within the UK. This may be longer during the holiday season.

Standard Royal Mail delivery times within the UK are shown below (please note these are indicative only, and not guaranteed delivery dates as Royal Mail can take up to 10 working days to deliver packages).

For example:

  • If you place an order with us on Monday afternoon, we would process your order on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Your order would be ready to ship and picked up by the delivery service on Thursday.

  • If you have paid for DHL, DHL would then deliver your parcel between Friday and Saturday that same week.

  • If you have paid for Royal Mail, Royal Mail would then usually deliver your parcel by middle of the following week, however this could take up to 10 working days.

DHL and Royal Mail outside the UK can take significantly longer - please allow up to 6 working days for DHL and up to 20 working days for Royal Mail outside the UK. Example average total processing and shipping times are given at checkout.

Please note that we cannot guarantee delivery times nor offer compensation for late delivery. Your order may take longer than the indicative time frames set out above, especially around public holidays. If your order processing (including printing) or delivery takes longer than anticipated, or is delayed for reasons outside our control, we cannot offer any refund or compensation. Please also note that we cannot control the speed at which DHL or Royal Mail deliver once your order is with them, and it is possible that your order is delayed for reasons of DHL or Royal Mail which are outside our control. This does not affect your right to change your mind and return your order to us in return for a refund, as set out in our Refunds Policy and Terms and Conditions.

If your order is seriously delayed, you may be able to seek compensation directly from DHL or Royal Mail rather than us. If you inform us that your order has not arrived, but proof of delivery is given to us by DHL or Royal Mail (e.g. signature of receipt) then regrettably we cannot offer a replacement.

I’m having technical problems at the checkout - what should I do?

If you are having technical issues with the "Add to cart" or "Checkout" functions, this may be because you are using an outdated browser or due to a loss of connection during purchase - we suggest that you update your browser (or use a different browser) to solve this problem. Please do not refresh the cart page whilst your order is processing as it may duplicate the order.

What is your Refund Policy?

If your guide arrives damaged then we will of course offer you a full refund. Otherwise, we’ll accept all returns of guides within 14 days, as long as they reach us in a re-saleable condition. Please email us at help@accountancyanswered.com if you wish to return your guide.

Are your notes suitable for my accountancy course?

Our guides specifically focus on the content for the ICAEW ACA, AAT Level 4 and CFAB qualifications, and the ACCA and the ACCA Foundations in Accountancy qualifications. However, much of our material is likely to be highly relevant to other accountancy courses such as accountancy undergraduate degrees and CIMA. If you are interested in using our guides to help your studies of another course, we recommend that you compare the topics covered by our guides with your course syllabus to ensure the content is appropriate.

As an ICAEW Recognised Student Content Provider, we regularly update our guides in line with changes to the exam syllabus and format. This allows us to ensure that references in our guides match the most up to date ICAEW Study Materials to enable you to use your revision time efficiently.

What is your Privacy Policy?

We will never sell your data on to third parties. The only data we’ll pass on is that which we need to fulfil your order (e.g. your address to Royal Mail). We’ll treat all your information confidentially, as will our secure payment processing service. We will occasionally email you with updates or offers, but such emails will be rare and you can always ask us to remove you from our mailing list. You can find our full policy here.

What is your environmental and sustainability policy?

We try to ensure that we run our business in a way that supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals

We use recyclable materials wherever possible in our products and use cardboard packaging rather than plastic padded bags to send our guides. All of our printing is completed in the UK to reduce the impact of shipping and avoid unnecessary waste. We work closely with our printers to ensure that staff are treated and paid fairly for their work and to make our products in a sustainable and ethical way.

We also have online options for all of our guides to allow students to have an option to reduce their carbon footprint further.
